I thought Toronto had some pretty good pizza, until I went to Italy and ate pizza there.

You might say I thought that the pizza was better just because I was eating it in Italy. Whether this is the case or not, I somehow doubt I’ll find a pizza like this anywhere in Canada.

This pizza is from Il Leone Rosso in Sorrento, Italy, and is called the “Sorrento”, consisting of mozzarella, Italian sausage, salami, ham and…french fries.

French fries on pizza?

Strange, perhaps. But the combination of these ingredients on the perfect wood-baked crust was the best pizza I’ve ever had.

Somehow I feel like the only French fries I’ll find on pizza in Canada would be accompanied by cheese curds and gravy.
